BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) is seeking a Licensed Consumer Products executive to join the team for an 11 month fixed-term Maternity Cover.


In this role, you will have the chance to work on an exciting brand portfolio that comprises a slate of world renowned titles, such as: legacy natural history brand BBC Earth as well as hugely popular pre-school brands Hey Duggee and Go Jetters. The successful candidate will also assist in the development of licensed product programs for the multi-award winning Doctor Who, plus premium titles such as Great Australian Bake Off and more.

Key Duties

  • Assist the licensing team to meet agreed annual financial plan to drive and deliver growth for the department
  • Work with licensees to forecast income on a quarterly basis and retain full awareness of licensee’s sales and retail listings to maximise brand retail footprint
  • Pitch licensing opportunities to retailers and licensees using approved sales presentations
  • Negotiate and finalise license terms for deals as directed
  • Manage the contract administration including processing of deal memos and issuing of contracts. This requires liaison with local and UK legal representatives
  • Manage the processing of royalty reports including payments & reporting, coding of reports, tracking against budget and managing of financial spreadsheets
  • Work with the marketing department on delivery of marketing materials helping to resolve any issues to ensure successful product launches and on-going support
  • Maintain relationships with retailers and licensees via updates on brand activity, new properties and promotional opportunities
  • Undertake retail market visits quarterly and develop a strong knowledge of manufacturers, trends, retail processes and promotional opportunities to help inform the Licensing strategy
  • Act as licensing brand champion for specific brands, co-ordinating information sharing and planning licensing strategy for those categories
  • Update sales support materials and brand presentations for key meetings and trade shows
  • Attend and coordinate trade fairs, presentations and industry events as necessary
  • Maintain product samples and inventory

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong Brand and/or product Licensing experience
  • Media sector and/or FMCG experience
  • B2B/B2C commercial and consumer products
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation and planning skills with the ability to think strategically across multiple brands
  • Influencing and networking: A team player with good collaboration and influencing skills that can persuade at multiple levels
  • Communication and presentation: Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Style: Highly motivated and results orientated individual. Flexible, capable of working in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong Admin and Computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Detail focused
