The Bugg Report has, over the past number of weeks, been visiting key national shopping centres around the country. During these visits it was encouraging to see a number a leading fashion retail chains utilising key license brands and icons to drive sales. It is fantastic to see these retailers using varied brands from different sectors including music, FMCG, fashion, sport and educational institutions. This will no doubt continue to create opportunities for our local industry to complement the more established character and entertainment licensing applications.

And for a few other interesting observations, it was great to see JB Hi-Fi supporting Star Wars’ robotics ranges, a great example of licensing product innovation……
…as well as an early Winter morning activation from Helga’s in Martin Place Sydney where free toasted sandwiches were being given away. This was gratefully received by the hundreds of office workers who swarmed the site. A great example of brand activation aimed at driving repeat purchase and loyalty.
