Moose Enterprises Building Wins Master Builders Award

Moose Office

Commissioned by Moose Enterprises, local construction company Qanstruct has won the Master Builders Award for “Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings $15m – $20m” for the development of Moose’s Cheltenham offices.

Announced on August 14th, the Master Builders Association of Victoria’s Excellence in Construction Awards showcases the outstanding craftsmanship and professional standards of Association members and demonstrates the commitment to building excellence in the commercial/industrial sectors throughout Victoria.

Moose Enterprise commissioned Qanstruct to bring to life their vision for an office that reflected innovation and fun and enhanced a healthy work environment.

“It is fantastic that the Moose offices have been recognised; it is a testament to our commitment to our team in providing a work environment that is dedicated to creativity and innovation”, said Paul Solomon, Co-CEO of Moose Enterprises.

“Moose works to put smiles on the faces of kids across the world and to do this it is important that our team is inspired by not only our products and culture but also their physical working space.”

“Qanstruct grasped this vision to a tee providing a playful and creative architectural response that offers an amazing work environment. When you walk in the front door, it’s like walking into a toy wonderland. It’s a fun place and that’s how it should be when you are in the toy industry,” Paul said.

Entering the Moose building, moving through the interior, there is a connectivity between the levels, a communal lunchroom, an industrial aesthetic complementing lofty spaces and a “floating” ceiling, plenty of natural light and a richly coloured exterior with internal practicality.

“The brand new Moose office was custom designed just for us with our team being instrumental in providing input into what would inspire them in their workplace. Our team live the Moose values every day so it was important that the office met their needs and served as a tool that inspired creativity and new ways of thinking. That translated into a giant beanstalk in our foyer, designed by a staff member, and a bocce and basketball half court for staff to enjoy as well as other key design elements,” Paul said.

“The philosophy driving the office design was to craft a space that inspires, delights and encourages those amazing bursts of creativity and vision that generate the next big toy idea, while boosting productivity, commitment and dedication from our whole team.”

“There are lots of spaces and places that allow for down time, team building and creative development. The top of the beanstalk is just one of them. It’s our creative team brainstorming space. Great ideas don’t always come while sitting in front of a computer,” Paul said.

As category winners, Moose’s office will automatically be entered into the national awards announced at the National Conference in November, 2015.
