Viacom International Media Networks Promotes Claire O’Connor to New Vice President of Consumer Products and Retail Marketing in Asia, Australia and New Zealand
Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) today announced the promotion of Claire O’Connor as Vice President of Consumer Products and Retail Marketing, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, with immediate effect. In this newly-expanded role, O’Connor will continue to oversee the Consumer Products business for the Australia and New Zealand market, and will pick up the additional responsibilities of Licensing across Asia. O’Connor will be based in Singapore and dual report to Mark Whitehead, Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Asia and Ron Johnson, Executive Vice President for Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products.
“Claire has been instrumental in developing our Consumer Products business across Australia and New Zealand over the past five years. She has created award-winning campaigns with many of our iconic Nickelodeon characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and has forged strong relationships across the retail and licensing industry. With her strong track record, I’m certain Claire will now bring her creativity, expertise and experience into her newly-expanded role,” said Ben Richardson, Senior Vice President and General Manager, VIMN Australia and New Zealand.

O’Connor replaces Jack Yew who has recently transitioned to a new role as Vice President of Recreation (Asia) and International Licensing Partnerships, reporting to Ron Johnson.
Most recently, O’Connor was the Senior Director, Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products for Australia and New Zealand, responsible for managing NVCP’s regional licensing and merchandising strategy as well as licensee relationships, retail partnerships and day-to-day operations. Previously, O’Connor consulted and managed Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment Australia’s (PHEA) kids portfolio. Prior to her time at PHEA, O’Connor worked in the UK as the Director of Home Entertainment with Entertainment Rights PLC, as Marketing, Sales and Acquisitions Director at Just Entertainment, and at BBC Worldwide as Head of Marketing for the Special Interest & Comedy division. O’Connor’s entertainment marketing career has also included time with VCI, Carlton and New World Entertainment/ITC.
